Put a Face to the Name: Meet Stephen Carter
Regional Sales Associate, USA
Tell us about your death care profession journey and what led you to join OpusXenta?
I haven't had a lot of time in the death care profession. I was pulled to it by my own curiosity for an industry that doesn't get discussed much but is something everyone needs.
What do you feel has attributed to your success in your career?
People, I love working with different people of all backgrounds and experiences. Fostering strong relationships to learn and grow is the most important thing I have done and truly enjoyed.
What mistake made in your career has taught you the most?
Early on, I was very focused on my success, competing with everyone but not sharing. I learned that the more successful everyone around me was, the more successful I became.
If you could have dinner with someone living or dead, who would it be?
My son, without a doubt, I would never miss a moment in time with him.
Who is someone you admire and why?
My father. He has travelled the world, served this nation, attended to presidents, met the pope, dignitaries, and lived one of the craziest lives.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Australia, specifically in the Outback. I want to see the flora and fauna of the continent.
If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
Nothing. Any changes made may affect where I am today, and I wouldn't change anything about the beautiful journey I have been on.
Tell us a bit about yourself outside of work.
Anything outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, swimming, running, biking, hiking, woodworking, and playing sports with my son.
Burial or Cremation?
Cremation for sure! Don't put me in a box!
